Significant Things to Know About CLAT Exam


ABOUT CLAT EXAM


CLAT is a short form for the COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST. It is an exam conducted under a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) for those students who seek admissions to various National Law Universities in the Country. An Entrance exam is conducted to enlist candidates on the basis of 'merit-cum-preference' to a particular university for admission to their PG/UG program as per reservation, eligibility and other important criteria under the status of respective universities. This can be given after 10+2 or Higher Secondary Examination which lies in under graduation program (L.L.B) in Law and After graduation in Law for (L.L.M) Master of Laws Programs regulated by these law universities.



ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO APPEAR IN CLAT EXAM


 CLAT Eligibility for Under graduation Course {LL.B}

 1. Candidate should be Indian Citizen and NRI Candidates in the five years integrated under graduation course offered by various law universities across India.

 2. As per the latest update, there will be no age limit for the UG program in CLAT.

 3. A Candidate should score minimum passing marks in 10+2 in their respective stream to be eligible for the CLAT exam.

4. Candidate who is appearing in the CLAT (UG) Exam must submit his/her 10+2 passing result proof at the CLAT Admission.

 5. For OBC/unreserved categories minimum 45% marks and for SC/ST minimum 40% marks is required.



  CLAT Eligibility for After graduation Course {LL.M}

 1. Both Indian and NRI Candidates are eligible who are in the one year LLM course offered at different NLUs and other institutes accepting CLAT scores.

 2. There is no age the limit set for appearing in CLAT UG Examination.

 3. Candidate who is appearing in the CLAT (PG) exam must submit his/her final year result of the qualifying exam.

 4. The candidates appearing for CLAT exam should have scored minimum passing % in LL.B/5-year integrated LL.B.

 5. For OBC/unreserved category minimum 55% and for SC/ST minimum 50% marks is required.
