Some Important things to Know about SSC


ABOUT SSC

SSC Stands for Staff Selection Commission, which is organized by Government of India to enlist Candidates for Various Posts in the Department of Ministries and other government official posts and also insubordinate officials.
The Staff Selection Commission has two Parts, Department of Personnel and Training Department which consists of Chairman, two members of the commission and a Secretary Cum-controller of Examinations. The main headquarter of the Staff selection commission is located in New Delhi. It has seven Regional Offices at Mumbai, Prayagraj, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi. It also has two Sub-Regional offices Situated in Chandigarh and Raipur.



ABOUT SSC CGL EXAM AND ELIGIBILITY


It is the Combined Graduate Level Examination, mostly referred to as SSC CGL. This examination has a large number of vacancies which are available through Graduate-level are Assistant Grade, Income tax officers/Central Excise, Sub-Inspectors in Central Police Organization( Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF and SSB), CBI, Upper division clerks, and Divisional Accountants, etc.
A Candidate who is appearing for SSC CGL Exam must hold a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university to be eligible to appear in the exam. Candidates from the age of 18 - 27 years are eligible to apply for the SSC CGL exam.


SSC CGL EXAM PATTERN

Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC CGL exam in four stages: TIER 1, TIER 2, TIER 3 and TIER 4.
TIER 1 AND TIER 2 is going to be conducted online, where Tier 3 will be a pen and a paper-based exam and TIER 4 will be a computer skill test.

SSC CGL TIER-4 EXAM PATTERN

SSC CGL TIER-4 exam consists of a computer skill test. It is going to regulate in two steps: the DEST test and the CPT test.

DEST


In DEST test candidates have to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on the computer in the English language. This test is regulated to check the candidate’s writing skills.


CPT


This test is regulated to check the candidate’s efficiency in Spreadsheets, word processing, and generation of slides.
